Contex, Inc. Offers FDA-Approved Overnight OK® Lens
(December 9, 2004: Sherman Oaks, CA) Contex, Inc. (www.oklens.com), a California company, is pleased to announce the launch of its overnight FDA Approved OK® Lens. Contex, Inc. is the only laboratory in the world offering Bausch & Lomb, Vision Shaping Treatment with the OK® Lens, a non-surgical vision improvement treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Vision Shaping Treatment (VST), also known as Overnight Orthokeratology, Corneal Refractive Therapy, Accelerated Orthokeratology or Gentle Vision Shaping System, shapes the cornea using patented, custom designed, oxygen permeable OK contact lenses. VST is available for people of all ages with varying levels of myopia also known as nearsightedness. Contex Inc. is offering training kits to acquaint and certify eye care professionals with the newly approved device and procedure.

“We are eager to introduce and certify eye care professionals for VST with the OK® Lens, a painless, safe and effective vision improvement treatment for children as well as adults diagnosed with nearsightedness,” said Nick Stoyan, President of Contex. OK® lenses are worn overnight, and removed in the morning but must be worn each night to maintain the vision improvement. This treatment is particularly attractive to active young people and sports enthusiasts.

Contex, Inc. manufactures the OK® Lens, Multifocals, Aspherics and other specialty lens designs. Contex uses innovative technology that allows precise design, manufacture and duplication of each patient’s contact lenses. Nick Stoyan NCLC and Steven Ernst NCLC, along with their staff, combine years of experience and knowledge in the field with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to provide eye care professionals with the highest quality contact lenses possible.
